Replacement and repairing
of windshield can cost more than just buying proper maintenance and cleaning
kit. As they say, caution is better than cure. If you follow simple tips of
keeping your windshield clean and up to date then it will last long and turn
out to be more cost-effective. It is important to get your windshield from a
reputable service provider but it won’t be enough no matter which glass or
provider you choose, if you don’t take care of it. Go through this simple
maintenance check list to maintain the shape of your windshield and save up on
repair jobs.
- Avoid extreme
temperatures. Either sudden cold from hot or sudden hot from cold can cause the
glass to contract or expand. Limit the damage to your windshields by checking
the temperature before car washes and other extreme activities which may expose
your vehicle to these sudden changes.
- Pay attention to
your wipers. Most people don’t care about such little things but the fact is
that these little things cause far more serious damages in the long run that
you may notice at first glance. We recommend changing your wiper blades four
times a year, at least!
- Avoid scrappers for
snow or ice gathered on your windshield. It may take longer but try using
deicing spray with your vehicles defroster whenever possible.
- And we cannot
stress this enough! Keep it clean! Any kind of dirt or scraps left on the
windshield only take longer to remove and leave deeper marks. Clean as soon as
you spot any dirt on the screen.
